Abstract

 Feminism is a range of administ rat ive movements, thoughts and publ ic schedules that share a common goal : to express , inaugurate and accompl ish pol i t ical , financial , personal and social equal i ty of sexes. This includes seeking to establ ish educat ional and professional opportuni t ies for women that are equal to those for men. Ani ta Nai r s n o v el s mai n l y d e al wi t h t h e l i f e a n d fami l iar i t ies of women, who face dest ruct ion and shocking involvements in thei r fami ly l i fe. She has dispensed wi th issues such as conquest of women, female infant icide, and prost i tut ion, lesbianism and rape. Her fict ion mainly presents the bel iefs of the middle-class women in the Indian urban l ife. Women in her fict ion belong to the post -independent India, educated and aware of thei r uniqueness, and who try to discovery thei r place in the fami ly and the society.
