Abstract

Myths and Legends are peculiar elements of regions and cultures. They are essential factors of social life as they transmit certain ideologies and influence succeeding generations. One can make a humanistic portrayal of these mythical heroes and heroines and turn them to realistic humans. This is what happens when we read mythical texts from a different perspective. Indian culture and tradition is deeply rooted in these myths and legends. This paper is an analysis of the realistic portrayal of Mahabharata legends as in M. T. Vasudevan Nairs Bhima: Lone Warrior.
