Abstract

Colleges have a vital role to play in inculcating sustainable mindsets in students by helping them to comprehend the complex connections and interdependencies between the environment, energy sources, and the economy (Elder, 2009). Above all, this novel approach of thinking uses the green economy as the central point for comprehending the deep connections between economics, energy source, the environment and social well being, often referred to as sustainability. The current case converses about the green practice model of Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies Thiruvalla (MACFAST) like green hour, biogas plant, water harvesting, solar power plant, herbal garden, bioplastics, hazardous waste management and carbon neutrality, and its reflections on the students community and society at large, there by inculcating sustainable mindsets among them.
