Abstract

In countries across the world, conservation as well as protection of environment has always been assigned top priority over many other issues that crop up along humanitys march towards progress and prosperity. Concern for the preservation of nature snowballed into Environmental movement in America in the second half of the twentieth century. The destruction of environment on a massive scale is something that has had academicians across various fields worried for a long time now. Large areas of land have been misused, only to satisfy the whims and fancies of human beings. The water bodies have not been spared either. Dumping of unwanted waste into oceans, rivers and lakes has resulted in the death and mutilation of the many creatures that live in the water bodies.
