Blankets of Shame: Vulgarity within Oneself in Maria Campbell’s Halfbreed

Abstract

The existence of mixed people in the society of Canada where known as Mis. They were intermingling between the community and group of culture who were discriminated in everywhere in the society. Their rebellious feelings and emotions find a channel in the name of Maria Campbell who as a Metis author, showed the sorrows of such community through her words and writings. Marias entire journey of life was raised as an autobiographical novel Halfbreed published in 1973. However, they possess many little things, the frustration and sufferings make them week day by day and shame throughout the every movement in their life makes them vulgar inside and directing them to kill themselves at last. The paper gives an idea about Metis people and the vulgarity they faced in the society and in particular, the life of Maria throughout which devastated her dream.
