Abstract

         The famous Indian novelist Pratibha Ray was born on 21 January 1943, at Alabol, of Odisha state. The novel Yajnaseni: The Story of Draupadi is the reworking of the great epic The Mahabharata from Krishnaas perspective (Draupadi). The novel discusses the social problems that have tormented the society for ages. Rays works are a search for social order based on equality, love, peace and integration. Ray has tried to unravel the underlying mysteries of life through her works of art. Through her works, she tried to create a social order, equality without class, gender, religion, and sex discrimination.
