Treatment of Martian Colonialism in Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars Trilogy

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyse the treatment of colonialism in the Mars Trilogy of Kim Stanly Robinson which includes the novels Red Mars, Green Mars and Blue Mars. This article emphasizes the colonisation of Mars by humans and the impact of utopian science in Mars Trilogy. In this process, the evolution of Kim Stanly Robinson in American literary field especially in science fiction writing is traced. His interest in Martian works is his uniqueness and the secret of his success. His worksselected for this study has many important components to study namely, Martian fantasy, ecological more scientific in imagination.  His writings forecast future and boldly write in contradiction of the crime against nature.
