LEARNING DIFFICULTY IN MATHEMATICS AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

This research paper aims to examine the learning difficulty in mathematics of high school students. The study included the demographic variablesgender, locality of the school, type of school management, type of school, medium of instruction, type of family. 100 high school students from Vellore district were involved. Normative survey method was adopted and stratified sampling technique was employed for the study. Learning difficulty in mathematics was adapted and constructed by the investigator. It consisted of 158 items on three levels viz. Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia.The data collected were subjected to the statistical technique like percentage analysis, t test and F- test and post hoc test. The findings indicates that the  high school students studying in boys school have higher mean scores than the students studying in co education and girls school in the dimension dyscalculia of learning difficulties in mathematics.
