EVALUVATIONOF IN VITRO CYTOTOXICITY AND APOPTOTIC ASSAY INMCF-7 CELL LINE USINGGANODERMA LUCIDUM EXTRACTS

Abstract

: Eatable mushrooms are the fleshy and palatable fruit bodies of several species of macrofungi.The appetizing mushroom Ganodermalucidumhas been widely used for the general promotion of health and longevity in Asian countries. The dried powder of Ganodermalucidum was popular as a cancer chemotherapy agent in ancient China.The aim of the present study is to investigate the efficacy of Ganodermalucidumextracts for in vitro cytotoxicity and apoptotic assay in MCF-7 cell line.G.lucidumextractswere treated with colorectal adenocarcinoma cancer cell line MCF-7 cell line for 24 h with control. The cells were treated at varying concentration ranges of 100, 250, 500, 1000?g/ml each.G.lucidumextractswere studied viain vitro cytotoxicity and apoptotic assay and their anticancer activity was confirmed.
