A STUDY ON LEARNING MOTIVATION ON STUDENTS ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to examine the relationship between Learning Motivation and Academic Achievement among high and higher secondary students. The sample consists of 511 (boys 288 and girls 233) high and higher secondary students were randomly selected from Chennai and Kancheepuram district schools in Tamil Nadu. Correlation and independent t-test were used for analysing the data. The result shows that there is significant difference in Learning Motivation along with the respective factors and Academic Achievement. More over the result reveals that the positive correlation between Learning Motivation along with the respective factors and academic achievement of high and higher secondary students. Learning motivation and its factors help to improve the students learning skills particularly for students with low motivation.
