  • Dr. Ruchi Tiwari

Abstract

Human rights are the rights bestowed upon every individual by the virtue of being born as a
human being.1These rights exist simply because of the existence of the human being,
irrespective of his status, achievement or recognition.2These are the rights owed to every
individual by all others. They cast a duty on other individuals to allow complete and
meaningful enjoyment of these rights without interference. These are deemed to be
inalienable and vested in inherent dignity of each human being.3Human rights stand on the
moral pillars of equality and universality, thereby implying that all humans are equal and
human rights belong to all humans irrespective of the numerous distinctions amongst them. In
fact, human rights may be termed as the law of the mankind
