Abstract

- Barium Titanate BaTiO3 (BTO) is one of the most ferroelectric
material, which is used to manufacture electronic components such as
multilayer capacitor, positive temperature coefficient thermistors, piezo
electric transducers, and ferroelectric memory. In these paper reports
structural and optical properties of Zn doped BaTiO3. Ceramic samples of
Ba1-x MxTiO3 (M=Zn, X=0.01, 0.15, 0.20) were prepared by chemical route
(Sol-Gel Auto Combustion) method. In Structural analysis (XRD) the phase
transformation of BTO from cubic to tetragonal phase is strongly influenced
by Zn concentration on A-site. Prepared material in tetragonal structure
with space group P4mm and pure BTO cubic structure with space group
Pm3m. UV VIS Spectroscopy reveals difference in Energy band gap present
in pure and doped BTO.
