A Study of Assessment Process of Quality Improvement Programme for Primary Schools

Abstract

The present paper is about or study the assessment process of the quality improvement program for primary school. The name of the quality improvement program for the primary schools of Gujarat is Gunotsav. In the present paper, the assessment process of Gunotsav has been studied. To study the assessment process entirely two methods were used. In one of the methods opinions of teachers were collected to know how the assessment process is going on. And in the other method data of grades of the last five years and data of the types of assessment has been collected. The method of the present study was a survey. A self-maid opinionnaire was used to collect the data form the participant. The government primary schools of Gujarat were the population for the study. Form them the government schools of Gujarat, schools of five districts of Gujarat were selected as a sample, among those schools 2 schools form each Taluka were selected and 25 teachers and 10 headteachers of the selected schools were the samples for the study. The results of Gunotsav of the last five years from 28 schools were collected. After collecting the responses data has been analyzed and the result has been derived. It was found that the Program should be conducted only by the person from the field of education. The process should less stressful. Some other important suggestions can be derived from the paper.
