Citation Analysis of Ph.D. Theses in Economics Submitted to Bundelkhand University, Jhansi during the Years 2010-2017

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the references cited in Ph.D. theses in the discipline of Economics submitted to Bundelkhand University, Jhansi during the years 2010-2017.The study is based on 870 citations taken out from 17 Ph.D. theses of Economics. The references obtained  were analyzed to identify document types cited, distribution of cited literature by language, frequency of cited literature chronologically, frequency of cited books by country and publisher, ranking of books by titles, ranking of journals by citation frequency, ranking of cited authors (books & journals), and authorship pattern of literature cited (journals and books) in the field of economics. The dominant language of the literature cited is English.
