The Study of Consumption Pattern of Electricity in Rajasthan Improvement through Renewable Energy

Abstract

Over the years, importance of energy recognised by every nation. Energy is treated as vital component for economic upgradation of nation and essential for the survival and success of the country. The consumption in domestic and commercial sector is rising at a fast pace in the state of Rajasthan. Moreover, in near future also with the increase in population, the need for the power supply will also grow further in the near future. Agriculture and industrial sector already represented major share of state electricity demand. Now, domestic and commercial sectors also join in this race. For a developing country like India, characterized by severe energy shortages, the requirement for renewable energy of top most priority. In India, Rajasthan state indicated renewable energy enhancements in these sectors that will go a long way in their sustainable development. The present study aims to assess the consumption pattern of electricity in Rajasthan. The time span selected for the study ranges from 2004-2019. The findings of the study depicted that agriculture and industrial sectors are the major players in the consumption of electricity in Rajasthan followed by domestic and commercial sector. In the end, study also recommended ways to improve consumption pattern of electricity through renewable energy in Rajasthan.
