OCCUPATIONAL STRESS AMONG PRIMARY & SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS OF ODISHA WITH RESPECT TO GENDER, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the levels of occupational stress among the teachers working in primary and secondary schools in Odisha and identify the relationship between the demographic data with the stress levels. The sample consisted of 600 teachers from primary and 600 teachers from secondary schools from Odisha.Teachers are the backbone behind the progress and prosperity of a nation. The all round development of students depend on efficient teachers. Now a day it is found that there has been a deterioration of standard of teaching. The statistical techniques of descriptive statistics & Pearsons coefficient were employed to analyze the data. The findings of the study indicated that female teachers are more satisfied & female teachers were belonging to high level of job performance. The male teachers are more stress in both in the primary and secondary schools. Less experience teachers are reported to have more stress than the more experience teachers in both primary and secondary school teachers.
