Abstract

Technology is grading up and most applications utilized WSN for data transfer from source to destination. In this nodes have sensors that have limited energy. Nodes collaborating together form clusters. Data transmission takes place from distinct clusters towards base station. Energy of sensors needs to be preserved in order to enhance lifetime of network. This paper presents the overview of various existing techniques used to enhance lifetime of network. The degradation indicated in terms of packet drop ratio for determining network bandwidth. The analysis of some popular protocols has been done in this paper which can be can be used for future enhancements. This paper proposes a novel Cluster Based Routing Protocol for a WSN which helps in optimizing the energy consumption on data transfer and thus increasing the lifetime of the WSN network. To prove the advantages of the proposed scheme, comparison is carried out between the performance of AODV and CBRP protocols.
