MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF JUTEEPOXY BASED COMPOSITE

Abstract

In this day and age, Jute fibre is being utilized as a strengthening material in the advancement of strengthened
plastics for different designing applications. Its biodegradability, ease, and moderate mechanical properties
make it an ideal reinforcing material.Therefore, Jute could be the solution of future of composite because of
eco-friendly nature and will replace synthetic fibres such as glass, Kevlar, etc. Considering feasibility for the
production of composite, it is quite economical to perform analysis as per impact, tensile and flexural property.
The changes in the mechanical properties of the FRP upon varying the volume percentage of the Jute fibrein the
compositewere investigated experimentally. After which it was found that with increasing VF the mechanical
properties as if tensile strength, hardness and impact strength increased considerably[1]. The sample with five
layers of jute composite was found to have highest value out of all the samples.
