Abstract

Competition law though is centuries old, but was first heard of and enacted in India only in 2002. It is at a stage of infancy in India. This nascence is in itself a huge problem for the evolution of competition law in the country and thus it is a basic requirement to advocate the law amongst consumers, enterprises and the various governmental agencies. The very aim of bringing in the Competition law was to build a competitive culture in the market. The Act in fact, comprises of various tools that help in building a competitive culture. To quote from FTC website,
