Ruskin Bond- An Indian Writer of British Descent

Abstract

With globalization and modernization, increasingly people are influenced by multiple cultures. This paper examines the case of Ruskin Bond, who was born in India shortly before Indias Independence (1947). Though he had British parents, but he considers himself as an Indian . The focus of this paper is how and why this difference has occurred and how it has influenced his writing.  Bond writes short stories about India and Indians, particularly the small towns and villages. Bond writes because he loves to write the true feeling of his heart for Indian and its people.
