Abstract

Green human resource management is a buzz word in organizations. Organizations are shifting towards Going Green and focusing on taking green initiatives within the organizations for creating a sustainable environment. Green human resource practices help in the utilization of resources efficiently, reducing carbon footprint by diminishing the use of paper, recycling the waste material and that practices which promote the source of a sustainable environment. This concept helps the organizations to understand the role of human resource management towards sustainability. Going Green not only helps organizations in cost-cutting and environment protection, but even organizations are also using it as a branding technique and for gaining competitive advantages. This study focuses on a theoretical framework of how organizations are becoming agile to explore the benefits of green initiatives and green human resources management and also exploring the strategies organizations should need to follow to gain sustainability.
